Sock Poppet at Play

I just finished and was bowled over by how exciting the book was. So, of course, I had to go looking for some reviews to see what others think of it. And I had to laugh. As is so typical, some thought it was exciting, some thought it, um, unawesome.

I liked Raffe. Someone thought he was an arse. (He could be, but he's an angel. He's supposed to be superior, at least for awhile.)

Someone really hated the first-person narrative. I found it added thrill to the book.

Poor authors. People are so complicated that there's really no blank slate when it comes to books. Before we even pick the book up, we're already viewing it differently and we haven't even started reading. Fascinating, yes?
