Literary Birthday Challenge ~ September

War and Peace - Henry Gifford, Aylmer Maude, Louise Maude, Leo Tolstoy

War and Peace / Leo Tolstoy ~ 9/12/15

I read one book from one author who was born in September, but it was a long old book!

War and Peace is roughly 1200 pages. Believe me when I say it can get pretty rough, too.

It took me a little under a month to read. I had planned on two months, but once I got into it I found I could read more each day than I had set out to do.

I'm glad I read it. Now I have bragging rights, which I intend to invoke at every opportunity. Don't be surprised if, in the middle of a conversation on favorite Dystopian novels*, I suddenly interject:

"You know, when I was reading War and Peace, I often thought that Tolstoy had a very dystopian view of the world."

Whether he did or not is not the point. The point is . . . I READ WAR AND PEACE!!!!!

*I just finished the Unwind series by Neil Shusterman and it was one of the most powerful, well-written of any series I've read.
