Day 22 ~ A book that makes you cry
I don't cry easily. I rarely cry when reading. If I do cry when reading, it's generally just a few sniffles and then I'm over it. Not so with this book.
In case you didn't see the little read "Spoiler Alert" at the top of the page:
Well no, everybody doesn't die. But if you haven't read the book ~ and you think you're going to ~ and you don't want to know what happens ~ DON'T CLICK ON "Read More!!!!!!"
Seriously, DON'T DO IT!
You clicked, didn't you? Don't say I didn't warn you.
So what made me cry? Well it all starts when Miss Linnet Berry Thrynne, who is a Beauty, falls in love with Piers Yelverton, Earl of Marchant, who is not a beauty. He has a scar. But that's not what made me cry.
What made me cry is at the very end, thus the SPOILER ALERT! (Last chance.)
Linnet has left. She gets sick. She is put in a filthy old shed, because the people taking care of her don't know who she is and she has no money to pay them. She's dying of a disease that will disfigure her face. Piers finds her.
It is one of the most beautiful love scenes I've ever read. And it made me cry in agony and joy.
