30-Day October Book Challenge ~ Day 10

Pride and Prejudice - Ian Littlewood, Hugh Thomson, Jane Austen

Day 10 ~ A book that reminds you of home

So why do I want to be reminded of home? All I have to do is put my book down and I am home.

When I read I want to go to other places, live other lives. I want to experience from the comfort of my own home what it's like to live in someone else's home. So I decided to pick a book that reminds me of a home I'd like to live in, at least for awhile.

And who wouldn't want to live in Pemberley? Some people believe Pemberley is based on Chatsworth House in Derbyshire. Not bad. Not bad at all!

Lyme Park, a large estate in Cheshire, was used to portray Pemberley in the 1995 BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. I think I could be comfortable here. (Photo credit: Julie Anne Workman)

So I'll just use Pride and Prejudice to remind me of home . . . the home of my imagination.
